Privacy Policy
Schedule Social Buddy ("the app", "we") is an iOS app that lets you plan, schedule and publish posts to your own Instagram, Facebook Page and TikTok accounts. It is operated by Austin Both. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to delete it. Questions: support@schedulesocialbuddy.com.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your account: email address, time zone, subscription plan | To sign you in, schedule posts in your local time, and know which features you have. |
| Connected social accounts: the account or Page ID, handle or name, and profile picture that Instagram, Facebook or TikTok returns; the access and refresh tokens they issue; the permissions you granted; and when the tokens expire | To publish on your behalf, show which account a post goes to, and keep the connection working by refreshing tokens before they expire. |
| Content you create: photos and videos you upload, captions, scheduled times, grid order, posting slots, and ideas you save | To store your drafts and publish them when you choose. |
| Publishing records: when each post was attempted, whether it succeeded, the ID the network returned, and any error | To show you what happened to each post, to prevent duplicate posts, and to fix problems. |
| Instagram insights: the metrics Instagram reports through its official API for the posts on your connected profile and for the account | To show your results in the Analytics tab. |
| A push notification token for your device, if you allow notifications | To tell you when a post is published, fails, or needs you to reconnect. |
| Server error reports and job health | To find and fix failed publishing and background jobs. |
To show your planned posts next to your real ones, the app reads the posts already on your connected Instagram profile each time you open the Grid. That list is not stored.
We do not collect your Instagram, TikTok or Facebook password. You sign in on the network's own login screen and it gives the app a token. We do not read your direct messages, and we do not collect contacts, location or advertising identifiers.
How your content is handled
- Uploaded media is kept in private storage. Drafts are never publicly reachable.
- When a post goes to Instagram or Facebook, the app creates a link to the file that expires after 15 minutes, because their servers fetch the file themselves. That link is not saved. TikTok posts are uploaded to TikTok directly.
- Access tokens are stored server-side, separately from the rest of your data, and are never sent back to the app or written to logs.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the services needed to run the app:
- Instagram and Facebook (Meta) and TikTok: the content you choose to publish, sent to the accounts you connected, when you schedule it. Their use of it is governed by their own policies.
- Supabase: hosts the app's database, file storage and background jobs, in the United States.
- Expo: delivers push notifications. It receives your device's push token and the notification text.
- Sentry: receives server error reports and job health check-ins. Tokens and media links are removed before anything is sent.
- Apple and, if you subscribe, our subscription provider (RevenueCat): process and track purchases. We never see your card details.
We may disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Publishing records are kept so you can see your post history, and Instagram insights are kept for 90 days. When you disconnect a social account or delete your account, the data described below is deleted.
Deleting your data
- Disconnect one account: in the app, Settings, then Social channels, tap the account, then Disconnect. Its tokens and insights are deleted and its scheduled posts are cancelled. If posts you already published or tried to publish went to it, its name stays on those posts in your history; otherwise nothing about it is kept. The app's access is also removed on Facebook (once no other connected Page uses the same Facebook login) and on TikTok. Instagram does not let apps remove their own access, so remove the app in your Instagram settings (Apps and websites) too.
- Delete everything: in the app, Settings, then Delete account, or email support@schedulesocialbuddy.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my data". Your profile, connected accounts, tokens, media, posts, insights and saved items are deleted, and the app's access is removed on Facebook and TikTok. Email requests are completed within 30 days and confirmed by email.
- You can also remove the app at any time in your Instagram, Facebook or TikTok settings. The app then stops publishing to that account. On Instagram and Facebook, removing the app, or asking there for your data to be deleted, also deletes what the app holds for the accounts you granted, as Disconnect does. A deletion request gives you a confirmation code; you can check its status on our data deletion page.
Posts that were already published stay on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok until you delete them there.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time by emailing support@schedulesocialbuddy.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have further rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
